Morrisons support Little Gate on Autism Awareness Day

We are very grateful to Morrisons Hastings Community Champion Davina Pennington for the opportunity to have had a stand in-store on the 2nd to celebrate this super important awareness day!

Morrisons operates a 'Quieter Hour' that takes place every Saturday in all stores from 9-10am, but in honour of World Autism Awareness Day the store operated this for a longer period on Tuesday 2nd April.

During these quieter periods the store does the following:

  • Dim the lights
  • Turn music and the radio off
  • Reduced tannoy announcements
  • Reduce movement of trolleys and baskets
  • Turn checkout beeps and other electrical noises down
  • Place a poster outside to notify customers that it is 'Quieter hours'

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to Morrisons Hastings and supported us. We had some really great conversations with people about all of the wonderful work we do at Little Gate by supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Autism, or both into paid employment.

Our tombola was a real hit too and we raised £131!
